Viewmaster Project

The SJSU Viewmaster is a visual time machine that transports its user back and forth in time at San Jose State University.

Project Overview

The Viewmaster project was a part of the SJSU acceleration campaign from the University Advancement department. The viewmaster is a toy with an rich history in popular culture, which allows users to take part in a fun 3D visual experience. The goal of the project was to use the viewmaster as a fun and creative gift that engages the almuni recipient on both a sentimental and emotional level.

The box gift set was mailed to prospective alumni donors to encourage participation in the future of SJSU. The viewmaster included 2 picture wheels, one set in the past and the other set in the future of university. The project was a team effort from the office of University advancement, which won the UCDA award for design excellence in 2012.
